Your ability to accelerate impact and make meaningful change for your clients is enabled by our strategic partner ecosystem and our robust technology platforms across the IBM portfolio **Your role and responsibilities** We are seeking an experienced Consultant with a successful track record of delivering projects in an OpenVMS environment. The Migration Consultant will specialize in migrating legacy systems implemented in 3rd generation languages such as COBOL, Fortran etc. to modern architectures such as Windows or Linux. This role requires in depth application development skills and extensive development project delivery experience i.e. support for various test stages of the project, covering defect investigation, remediation, and testing. This role involves the application of IBM ModernSystems technologies to help deliver a sustainable future for crucial business applications. The role is customer facing and the candidates must have strong communication skills and be comfortable leading technical aspects of migrations with the customers including workshops and presentations. **Required technical and professional expertise** · 5+ years of recent OpenVMS application design, implementation and support · 5+ years of design, implementation and support in COBOL OpenVMS programming language · Experience of DCL command file development · 5+ years of Linux development experience including operating systems APIs · Recent Micro Focus COBOL development experience an advantage · Rdb Database experience · Modern build and deployment experience an advantage · Scripting in Perl or Python an advantage IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
