Position: On-Call Support — Barista / Bakery Assistant / Cleaning Support

• Ghostlight Coffee (Historic South Park)
• Dough at 2nd Street Market (Downtown Dayton)
• Dough Baking Facility (Kettering)

Type:

Part-Time, On-Call | Guaranteed 10 hours/week + Weekly On-Call Stipend

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, early-morning individual to provide flexible support across our coffeehouse and bakery operations. This role is designed for someone who can respond quickly to staffing needs, assist in multiple locations, and perform a variety of tasks ranging from front-of-house barista duties to bakery cleaning and support.

This position ensures our operations run smoothly during staff absences, busy periods, or special projects. Reliability, adaptability, and professionalism are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Morning Check-In: Communicate with management each morning to determine staffing or operational needs.
• Barista Support: Fill in for absent staff at Ghostlight Coffee, providing customer service and beverage preparation according to established standards.
• Bakery Support: Assist at Dough’s 2nd Street Market booth (customer service) or Kettering baking facility with cleaning, dishwashing, organization, and basic prep as needed.
• Operational Assistance: Support cleaning and restocking efforts at both café and bakery locations, including deep cleaning during non-service hours.
• Schedule Flexibility: Work varied hours as needed while maintaining consistent morning availability.

Compensation & Schedule

• Guaranteed minimum of 10 paid hours per week
• Weekly on-call stipend
• Competitive hourly rate
• Additional hours available based on operational needs
• Primarily early morning availability required, with some weekend shifts possible

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Reliable transportation to all three locations
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Comfortable working in environments with heat, cleaning products, and common food allergens
• Strong communication skills and ability to respond promptly to morning check-ins
• Prior barista, bakery, or food service experience preferred but not required
