Job Description

ATS Scientific Products is expanding our team in  Vineland, NJ and have immediate openings for a  Lathe Operator. In this position the right candidate will be asked to perform a variety of duties related to the manufacturing and development of products within the scientific glass industry.

Hours are Monday- Thursday on 1st Shift - 4/10s schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Ability to run all lathe machines
• Capable of holding tolerances according specifications
• Operator must know what produces certain effects heat speed vacuum and how to correct them
• Must have understanding of mandrels and their care
• Basic knowledge of routine setups
• Advise supervision when equipment repairs are needed
• Ability to follow work instruction work orders and process sheets
• Complete department related paperwork
• Advise supervision when any out of standard condition occurs
• Assist in training of new personnel
• Responsible for measuring your work
• Must observe all safety precautions rules and regulations

Qualifications/Education

• Mathematical skills 
• Experience with glass lathes and glass tools in a high precision specification environment is required 
• High School Diploma
• Ability to speak read and write in English
• Able to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form

• Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
• Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
• Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
• Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
• Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
